A one-day conference covering all the challenging aspects of the flavour industry
On Thursday 7 October 2010, The European Flavour Industry (EFFA) held the one-day conference 'Flavours: expanding sensory experiences' in Brussels. Around 100 attendees, representing policy makers, trade associations from across Europe and the flavour industry, participated in the EFFA event and listened to industry leading speakers on topics such as the consumer's preferences, the great achievements in flavourings and the important challenges for the flavour industry.

The European Flavour Association (EFFA) has restyled its website and is proud to announce that its new website is now on-line. EFFA's new website can be discovered at www.effa.eu. With this new, functional website, EFFA aims at providing valuable information on flavourings and the European flavour industry for all its stakeholders.
Realignment of EFFA: New EFFA focuses on the representation of the European Flavour Industry

At its General Assembly, held on Wednesday 2 December 2009 in Brussels, the former European Flavour and Fragrance Association (EFFA) voted in favour of the disconnection between the fragrance and flavour branches. The new EFFA will henceforth concentrate its representation activities on the interests of the European flavour industry, while the fragrance industry will be represented by the EU Affairs Department of IFRA, the International Fragrance Association. The new EFFA starts officially operating as from 1 January 2010 onwards.
EFFA Information Day on Flavourings
“Regulation (EC) No 1334/2008, EFFA Guidance Document and Flavour Safety Evaluation Program”
On Friday 5th June 2009 the European Flavour & Fragrance Association sponsored an Information Day in Brussels. The focus of the day was the new EC Regulation affecting the use of Flavourings in foods and their labelling. The Regulation came into effect on 20th January 2009 and will be in force by 20th January 2011 after a two-year transitions period and has been the most significant flavour development in 20 years.
